FAQs

Q?

What is the maximum user weight for the watersport activities?

A.

Flyboarding

There is no weight restriction to use the flyboard. The lighter you weigh the less power is used to levitate you above the water, although it is easier for heavier people to control the board when first learning. You will still need to fit, able and confident in the water though.

Jetboarding

Weight limit is 110kg. The engines motor will be working too hard anything above this weight limit.

Hoverboarding

Weight limit is 110kg. Due to safety concerns and difficulty in operating this device at anything more than this weight.

Q?

How difficult are the activities?

A.

You need to be confident in the water, fit and able to swim.

Flyboarding

Flyboarding is very easy. Most people are up and out of the water within 5-10 minutes. However, we have noticed the less a person weighs the more difficulty they have controlling the flyboard.

Jetboarding

Jetboarding combines surfing and jetskiing. However, you don't need to have any surfing experience as this can be learnt on flat water. So long as you have had some exposure to watersports, snowboarding or a good sense of balance you will be able to jetboard.

Hoverboarding

Hoverboarding is extremely difficult as it combines a much higher degree of balance under pressure and height. It is therefore only available to customers that have had flyboard experience and highly capable with other watersport activities.

Q?

What should I bring?

A.

Swimwear, towel and water resistant sunscreen.

INCLUDED WITH EACH BOOKING:
- Full Length Wetsuit
- Safety Life Jacket
- Helmet when Flyboarding & Hoverboarding
- Pre-Flight/Jetboard Safety Briefing
- 1-on-1 Certified Instruction when Flyboarding & Hoverboarding

However, if you have your own wetsuit it is much more comfortable for you to bring this with you as we cannot guarantee that we will always have dry wetsuits available for you.

Q?

Is there an age limit?

A.

Yes, 18 and over. However, if accompanied by a parent or guardian and the teenager (15 and over) is a strong swimmer plus experienced in watersports we will allow at the discretion of the Jetboards New Zealand representative for them to participate. An additional waiver my be required to be signed by the parent or guardian.

Q?

I’ve purchased an activity from the website. What happens now?

A.

You will soon receive a confirmation e-mail from the Jetboards New Zealand Booking Team. Please check your junk/spam folder just in case. If you have not heard from us within 24 hours of your booking then please contact us.

Q?

Do I need to know how to swim?

A.

Yes. Our activities are extreme water sports and there are times when you will be in deep water. Although you will be wearing a life jacket and wetsuit your safety is our number one priority. However, there are different levels of swimming ability required for the watersport activities we offer:

Flyboarding

You need to be confident in the water but don't have to be an experienced swimmer to learn how to flyboard as it's more about your balance and ability to listen to directions given by your flyboard instructor. The equipment is buoyant and versatile and will enable you to experience the sensation of being pushed through the water by a dolphin or fly in the air like a superhero!

Jetboarding

This activity requires that you are confident in the water and able to swim. You need to be fit and able to get back on the board when falling off especially when learning, as you will fall multiple times when first getting the hang of it. Similar to learning how to snowboard but you are in the water.

Hoverboarding

This activity requires a high level of fitness and is only suitable for strong swimmers who are experienced watersport enthusiasts. You will also need to experience flyboarding before trying the hoverboard due to the areobatical skills required.

Q?

Under what circumstances would Jetboards NZ be forced to cancel?

A.

Jetboards New Zealand will endeavor to contact you the customer with as much notice as possible but in exceptional circumstances beyond our control, this can be done on the day of your experience although this is very rare. Similarly we may have to cancel due to mechanical failure but this is not a common occurrence and we have back-up equipment on site to lessen this eventuality. If we are forced to cancel due to circumstances beyond our control we will of course re-book for you free of charge.

Q?

Will I be refunded if I cancel?

A.

If a cancellation is made within 48 hours of arrival day, loss of 100% of the total booking price
